Heightened, Bibi, Katie’s Mom (LA’s Dances with Films festival 2023)

We had a blast with the stars and filmmakers behind three of Dances with Films 2023's most exciting indies. Tune in special coverage of one of our favorite film festivals.

Heightened
Writer, director, and actor Sara Friedman stole our hearts with her film Heightened, which also stars real-life couple Xander Berkley and Sarah Clarke of 24 fame. This film is cognitive behavioral therapy for the soul and we loved every minute. We talked with Sara about themes that mean a lot to us - anxiety, therapy, and finding love.

Bibi
Elizabeth Paige's soul-stirring performance in Chrisopher Beatty's haunted mansion thriller, Bibi, scared the pants off of us and evoked those spine chills reserved the for likes of the Shining. Dig into this conversation that covers everything from scary carpet to Mike Tyson.

Katie’s Mom
We crushed hard on Tyrell Shaffner and Meryl Branch-McTiernan's reimagining of the Graduate, Katie’s Mom, which stars the iconic, Dina Meyer. We chat about blowing up your life to forge a new path, parent-child dynamics, and unconventional love stories.
